铜川博物馆的常设展由“漆沮既从，三辅名都——铜川历史基本陈列”和专题陈列“玉山金容”组成，2024年6月3日，展现铜川特色传统文化的民俗非遗馆正式对外开放。
馆藏重要文物有人面纹彩陶葫芦瓶 , 出土于1990年出土于铜川市吕家崖遗址，属于新石器时代仰韶文化遗存，距今约有五千至七千年历史。宋代青釉刻花牡丹纹梅瓶线条流畅、色泽淡雅。玄奘造佛迹造像是铜川博物馆收藏的一件重要文物，器物顶部残有凸起的宝样纹，底部右侧残存有十字形花头，花头左侧为阴刻21字楷书发愿文，该段文字是玄奘法师的亲笔铭文，该文物于1999年在铜川市印台区玉华村出土，是我国发现最早的佛足印造像。
汉代和唐代铜镜年代主要是汉代、唐代，其中一些铜镜具有较高的历史文化研究价值，如汉“吾作明竟”铭四兽纹铜镜、唐符箓纹铜镜等。
